Mapping Australian Pathways (MAP) is an innovative outreach program that aims to deliver engaging, informative science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) workshops to rural communities with a particular focus on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youths. In the same vein, participating university students and early professionals will be trained to deliver these outreach projects in the spirit of ‘Paying it Forward’, and take back to their workplace an enriched understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and language.
By broadening the horizons of youths of the potential that STEM has in creating tangible change, as well as deepening the cultural understanding of participants, we can inspire a new generation of changemakers to shape the development of rural communities in New South Wales and the world.
A collaborative initiative led by
Build the future generation of young Australian leaders and professionals as global changemakers
Empower youths with new skills and knowledge to broaden their knowledge and career outlook in STEM
Deepen participant understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and language, natural environment and Country
Connect and strengthen ties between participants and communities in regional NSW through meaningful engagement and knowledge-sharing of local innovation
